Barnsley Labour carried out a survey of Barnsley Residents by post and by the internet to ensure our future programme fitted your needs. These are the results:

 

Barnsley people said – Jobs for Barnsley People

            Barnsley Labour  has created 10,000 jobs in the last 10 years and   now we are creating 644 more jobs for Barnsley People during the         recession.

 

Barnsley People said – Homes for Barnsley People

            Barnsley Labour has made sure that 1268 out of 1269 council homes        have been given to Barnsley People.

 

Barnsley People said  - Keep Council Tax Down

            Last year Barnsley had the lowest council tax rise for 12 years and NO       INCREASE for the over 65’s households.

 

Barnsley People said – Give our Young People things to do

            Barnsley Labour has introduced free bus fares for the under 18’s (the        only council in the country to do so), FREE swimming and a range of       new sport and Leisure activities.

 

Barnsley people said – Cut our Car Parking Charges

            Barnsley Labour has introduced FREE car parking on Saturdays and        Sundays in Town to help Businesses and Shoppers

 

Barnsley People said – Tackle Crime and Anti-Social behaviour

            Figures show Barnsley Labour has made Barnsley the safest town in        South             Yorkshire

            With the government we have introduced free bus fares and swimming;    and kept council tax increase down to zero for over 65’s households.
